Specialized Units
The Alliance Police Department Consists of numerous "specialized units" that are deployed in special situations.

The Canine Unit is used for several different reasons. The most common uses for the canine is locating drugs and tracking persons. Both of the police department's police canines are trained as both "patrol" and "drug" dogs.
The Crisis Hostage Negotiation Team (CHNT) is a team of officers that conduct negotiations for the department with possible hostage takers or violent subjects so that a peaceful resolution to conflict can be achieved.
The Police Horse Unit currently consists of one horse "Kolt" and Ptl Lydia Hart. The police horse is the most recent addition to the department's specialized units. It is used primarily for crowd control and can be seen in most parades.
