All three units are supervised by the Special Operations Captain and the Special Operations "DB" Lieutenant.   The Special Operations Captain is responsible for scheduling, training, investigation assignments and case management, citizen compliments and complaints.

The Special Operations Lieutenant is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Detective Bureau Units.  The Lieutenant reviews cases forwarded to the detective bureau from the patrol division and assists the Special Operations Captain in deciding which cases will be assigned for further investigation.

The Captain and Lieutenant's primary responsibilities are assigning cases to specific detectives, case review, supervising search warrants, and approving reports.
