Dispatchers

The Alliance Police Department's Dispatch Center is responsible for handling all phone calls and radio traffic into the police and fire department.  The dispatch division consists of three shifts that operate 24 hrs a day.  The dispatchers are supervised by Sgt Christopher McCord and by the Shift Lieutenant and/or Sergeant in charge while they are on duty.

The dispatchers receive calls and dispatch police, fire and EMS units to the scene in order of priority.  Priority is determined by the severity of the crime and whether or not it is currently in progress. Once the call is received, the dispatchers use GPS tracking of the patrol cars to determine who the closest available officer is and then the call is dispatched to the officer either over the radio and/or by a computerized message to a computer terminal in the patrol car.

Dispatchers provide the officers with call information, arrest warrant information, alarm information and vehicle information on traffic stops just to mention a few items.

They also monitor security cameras and alarms at the police station and courthouse, take bond for prisoners, activate the tornado siren, answer the police entrance door after normal business hours, monitor fire alarms and enter warrants, missing persons, protection orders and stolen items into the Law Enforcement Automated Database System (LEADS) so that these itmes/persons can be located officers doing checks by computer at a later date.

Please feel free to contact any of the dispatchers below or the command officers should you have a problem.
