Liane Thomas OVI Arrest after wrecking into garage
Description
On 3-6-11 at approximately 4am APD received a report of a subject driving slowly in the area of the first block of West Washington Street and wrecking a tan Blazer into a garage. The caller stopped officers at and pointed out the vehicle that she observed. Driver Liane Thomas was stopped and asked what had happened and she stated that she purposely wrecked into her own garage because she wanted to get her jacket off the roof of the garage. She stated that her husband threw the jacket on the roof. She stated that she had not been drinking. Thomas said she consumed, "One beer." Her eyes were very glassy and she had a moderate odor of alcohol about her person. Based on her poor performance on field sobriety tests, she was arrested for OVI and advised of her rights. She refused to answer any questions without a lawyer present. She initiated conversation with me several times. Her breath sample was .088%BAC. Thomas pleaded guilty to an amended charge of Physical Control of a Vehicle While Under Influence on 5-31-11.
